Member Benefits

CFA currently has over 90 Corporate Members consisting of Host, Card, Peripheral and Tester manufacturers.

Any company that plans to design, manufacture, market, or sell CFA-defined products are required to obtain licensing from CFA for its specifications, trademarks and logos. Licensing can be attained by becoming a member of CompactFlash Association and maintaining membership during the duration of the product(s).

As a CompactFlash Association (CFA) member, you will also benefit from:

Membership Levels

There are two levels of membership in the CompactFlash Association; Affiliate and Executive.

This is a table comparing membership benefits between the two CompactFlash Association (CFA) membership levels: affiliate membership and executive membership.

Affiliate Membership

$2,500 /Year

Affiliate members are able to access documents including various technical specifications and guidelines related to all CFA proposals, in order to develop, manufacture, and sell products compliant with those specifications and guidelines. In addition, Affiliate members are able to participate in all conferences, work groups and events administered by the CompactFlash Association.

Executive Membership

$5,000 /Year

Executive members influence the direction of CFA by having voting rights to technical and operational matters that are strategic to CFA. This includes the voting right to ratify new specifications. Executive members are also eligible to become board members and committee chair persons.

Step two

Complete the application form using your company email.

Step three

Wait for CFA to email back providing the following documents:
  1. CompactFlash Association License and Sublicense Agreement
  2. Invoice for the current year

Step four

Sign the Agreement, and send it back to [email protected] along with the membership fee (following the directions on the invoice).

Step five

Once the funds are received by CFA, the Agreement will be countersigned by the President of CFA and sent back to the applicant.

Step six

Congratulations, you are now a CFA member! A system-generated email will be sent by Basecamp, a communication platform used by CFA and its members, to set up your member account.

Allow 5 business-days for the application process to complete.

Interested in CFA specifications, but not sure if you want to be a member yet?

Legacy specifications, namely, CompactFlash and CFast, can be downloaded for $100 by non-members.
